Nostalgic Taipei
北鎌倉駅の北東にある六国見山に登った。
Last week, my wife and I climbed “Rokkokuken-zan”, located northeast of Kita-Kamakura Station.
登ったといっても標高150m弱の低山である。とはいえ鎌倉では二番目に高い山だそうだ。周辺の寺を巡りながら四時間ほど歩いたが、起伏が多く意外に足に応えた。運動不足だな。この調子で鎌倉周辺のコースを踏破するつもり。
“Rokkokuken-zan” is a low mountain with a height of just under 150m. However, it is said to be the second highest mountain in Kamakura. We walked for about four hours, visiting the surrounding temples. I was very tired. I guess I’m not getting enough exercise. I plan to continue hiking other trails around Kamakura.
５年前には台北市内のいたるところにあった檳榔の店も看板もなくなっていた。
The Betel Palm (bīngláng) store and sign, which were in Taipei city five years ago, are no longer to be found.
台北を出ればまだあるようだが、台北市内では全く見かけなくなった。数年前に販売禁止になったとのこと。どうも販売方法に風紀上の問題があったようである。そのおかげで街も綺麗になったようだが、なんとなく寂しい。
It seems that they are still available outside of Taipei. It was banned in Taipei a few years ago. The reason seems to be a morality issue. The city has become cleaner because of that, but it’s lonely.
