Sturmtigerの足廻りをロコ組みする。履板が非対称なので履帯の向きは左右で異なる。まず10個単位で組み、30個繋げる。

“Roco-assemble” the tracks of the Sturmtiger. Since each plate of the track is asymmetric, the direction of the tracks is different on the left and right. First, connect 10 tracks, then connect 3 units to make 30 tracks.接地部の履帯を転輪と接着。左右の水平を揃える。

Glue the tracks on the ground to the wheels. Align the left and right sides horizontally.小間切れに繋いでいく。

The tracks are cut into small pieces and connected together.弛み具合で長さを調整して完成。

Finally, adjust the length by adjusting the slack. This completes the “Roco assembly”.未開封のポリパテがカチカチに固まってしまっていた。溶剤系は生モノ、何年も経てばダメになる、ということ。

An old, unopened polyester putty had hardened. Solvent-based putty is perishable and becomes unusable after many years.凹凸があるのでツィメリットコーティングが難しい。ポリパテは硬化剤を入れるとブレードでのパターンニングがしにくいので、途中から主材だけを使った。固化がだいぶ遅いがその方が作業はし易い。

The surface is uneven, so Zimmerit coating is difficult. Polyester putty is difficult to pattern with a blade if you add a hardener, so I used only the main material from halfway through. It hardens quite slowly, but it is easier to work with. 昔作ったTigerIの方が出来が良い。
