日本の戦車を作る 13 -Assembling of the Japanese tank vol.13

タミヤのtype97。考えられた組み易さに、“プラモデル”へのメーカー姿勢が感じられる。より精巧なモノを、と思えば今なら異なる選択肢はある。しかし、50年近く前のキットをあえて作るのには、それなりの理由がある。

Tamiya’s “type 97”. I can feel Tamiya’s passion for “plastic models” in the ease of assembly. There are more sophisticated kits. However, there is a reason why we choose kits that are nearly 50 years old.
1975の刻印の下に1987とある。金型には若干　手を入れているのかもしれない。が、基本設計がしっかりしているから、ディスコンにはならない。履帯は変えたが、各パーツは、古さを感じないシャープなモールド。

1987 is stamped below 1975. The mold may have been slightly modified. However, since the basic design is definitely correct, this kit will not be a discontinued controller. Although the tracks have been changed, each part is still a sharp mold.中学生の時に作ったのが最初。履帯のたわみを再現すべく、輪ゴムと湯でポリエチレン履帯を変形させた。このやり方は、どこかに誰かが書いていたのをまねたのだが、思いのほかうまくいった記憶がある。ファインモールドのエッチングパーツがあったのでできる限り使ってみる。砲塔のハッチ裏側がモールドされていない。戦車兵を載せるのでそれっぽく作りこむ必要がある。丸い突起はペリスコープのようだ。

I first assembled this kit when I was in middle school. The “bending” of the track was made using rubber bands and hot water. I used this method as a reference, but I remember it working well. I had photo-etched parts made by Fine Mold, so I’ll try to use them as much as possible. The back side of the turret hatch is not molded. Since the hatch will be opened, additional work is required. Is the round protrusion a periscope?また、X’masが近づいてきた。近所のお社のライトアップも例年通り。このライトアップは自治会の皆さんがやっているとのこと。６年前に使った写真とは少し違うのだ。

X’mas is approaching. As usual, the neighborhood was also decorated with lights. This light-up was handmade by members of the neighborhood association.
