久々のM3 STUART 2 -Good old “M3 STUART” part2
さくさくと作れると思いきや、古いキットのため、前処理に時間がかかります。フェンダー裏の押し出しピン跡が気になっていたら、フェンダー厚の方が気になり出しました。M3の装甲厚は前面でも38.1mm。
Although I thought that I can easily make it, for an old kit, preprocessing takes time. I was worried about the thickness of the fender when worried about a pin trace of the fender back side. The thickness of the frontal armor of the M3 is 38.1mm.
フェンダーが模型で1mmあるよ。てことは35mm? うそ〜？削るしかないですね。だいぶ良くなったような。まあそれなりのイメージですから、こんなところでご勘弁を。この時期のかんな削りは静電気で削りくずの処理が大変です。（後日談：フェンダーエッジは曲げ処理されているようで、どうも装甲厚ではないようですね）
A fender is 1mm with a model. Then it becomes 35mm. It is strange. Let’s sharpen it thinly. It seemed to become quite good, … but, it seems to be worked to bend the fender edge.
AFV CLUBのT16 Truck。Truckだけで144pcs。エンドコネクターがその倍の288pcs。写真はその半分mのパーツです。このTruckキットは可動タイプではありません。でも私にはこれで十分。モデルカステンやブロンコの可動タイプのパーツ数はほぼ倍。私の手には負えません、きっと。
In T16 Truck of AFV CLUB, Truck parts are 144pcs. End connecter parts are 288pcs. The photograph is half. This Truck kit is not a movable type. But it is enough for me in this. The number of the parts of the movable type of Modelcasten and Bronco Models of this almost double it. I may not prepare them into me.
完全ではありませんが、やっと半分を繋ぎました。スチレン製のためプラの収縮で一応接着剤なしで組み立てられますが、すぐバラバラになります。ここまで繋いだだけでも相当疲れました。ピンセットではパーツが飛ぶので、指で組むしかありません。
At last I joined half together. Because it is made by styrene, it is assembled without adhesive, but separates immediately. I was tired just to have tied only this. Because I flip parts with the tweezers, it is tying it with a finger.
ボディ上部の装甲板は、まだスライド金型がない時代で、どうしても箱組みは避けたいとの設計思想でしょうか。やはり昔からタミヤは他社とは思想が違いますね。
Because it is the kit of the times without a slide die method, it is a method to complete the armor plate of the body. This is the design that attached great importance to easiness of assembling of Tamiya. Tamiya is different from the other companies in thought from old days.
Wolfの54mm メタル JEB Stuartです。実写真だと髪と髭はおそらく黒系ですね。あまり考えずに塗装していました。Figureも相当在庫が眠っています。そろそろ手を出さないと・・・。
It is 54mm metal JEB Stuart of Wolf. Probably hair and the mustache are black with the original photograph. I painted it without thinking too much. There is a lot of figure which I do not make. … which is bad when I do not make it soon.
