日本の戦車を作る 5 -Assembling of the Japanese tank vol.5

前回の記事でポナペの95式のことを書いたら、25年前の記憶が蘇りました。

The memory 25 years ago revived when I wrote Type95 of the Pohnpei island by the last article.ポナペは戦時中は日本の統治下にあり、日本の国民学校もありました。海岸には揚陸用のベトンが残っており、当時を偲ぶものが島に点在していました。近世にスペインがいた時期もあり、その時の石壁も残っています。

The Pohnpei island was under rule of Japan in wartime, and there was the Japanese national elementary school, too. Concrete for unloading was left in the shore, and the island was dotted with the things which remembered those days. There is the time when there was Spain in the early modern times, and the cliff face at that time is left.私が初めてマンタを見たのはここポナペで、マンタに遭遇した時は想像以上のその大きさに驚愕した覚えがあります。写真の彼らはもう30歳前後だよね。

It is Pohnpei island that I watched Manta ray for the first time. When I met with Manta ray, I was astonished to size of Manta ray more than expected. By the way, they of the photograph are already aged around 30 years.さて、製作の方ですが、一気に砲塔を組み立てます。部品はそこそこ数があります。可動部分に接着剤をまわさないように慎重に組み付けていきます。

I assemble a gun turret. There is much number of the parts. I install it carefully so that a movable part to grind does not have adhesive.あまりの小ささに悲しくなってきました。この狭いスペースにどうやって身体を置き、どんな思いで戦ったのでしょうか。

Because a gun turret was too small, I became sad. What kind of thought would tankers fight in in this small gun turret?砲身は砲塔固定のままで左右に振ることができます。日本人的工夫ですね。

A tanker can move a gun barrel in right and left with fixing a gun turret. It is a Japanese unique idea.精度を保ち、作りやすく、程よい再現性と思います。あらためて優秀なキットであると実感しました。
