Second challenge
小学生の頃、タミヤのモーターライズM4を作った。箱絵からM4A3E8だったようだ。完成品はないが、確か当時は塗装もしなかった。
When I was in elementary school, I made Tamiya’s Motorized M4. He seems to have been “M4A3E8” from box art. I don’t have anything right now, but I wonder if I didn’t paint it.
20年ほど前に同じタミヤのM4初期型を、エッチングパーツ等を追加して製作。この時は緑が強いオリーブドラブで塗装している。
Produced Tamiya’s “M4 early version” about 20 years ago. At this time, it is painted with green olive drab.
バリエーションが多いM4だが、このM4はM4A1ではなく、コンチネンタルR-975星型ガソリンエンジン、75mmM3戦車砲搭載の鋳造砲塔、溶接車体。
Although there are many variations of the M4, this “M4 early version” is not the M4A1, but a Continental R-975 star-shaped gasoline engine, a 75mm M3 tank gun, a cast turret and a welded body.
2015年にタミヤからMMとしてM4A3E8がリリース。更に朝鮮戦争バージョンも出たのでEASY EIGHT（E8）の製作再挑戦を勝手に決意。21世紀のタミヤシャーマンの進化に期待。
In 2015, “M4A3E8” was released in Tamiya’s Military Miniature series. In addition, the Korean War version was released, so I decided to re-challenge the modeling of EASY EIGHT (E8). I look forward to the evolution of Tamiya shamans in the 21st century.
“E8″の”E”はサスペンションがHVSSの意味。”EASY”は、”Allied military phonetic spelling alphabets”からで”Easy Company”と同じ。
The “E” in “E8” means HVSS. “EASY” is “E” in “Allied military phonetic spelling alphabets”. This is the same as “Easy Company”.
なんと言っても幅広のT80型履帯。ただし製作はただいま順番待ち。
The wide T80 type track is attractive. However, modeling is waiting in line now.
