Shinjuku Nostalgia

以前、新宿で働いていた時は、よく神田川沿いを歩きました。桜が綺麗な神田川ですが、ちょっと道を外れるとエキゾチックな雰囲気漂う怪しい界隈が顔を見せます。
When I worked in Shinjuku, I walked the Kanda riverside frequently. It is the Kanda River where many cherry trees bloom, but there is doubtful neighborhood with exotic when it misses the way.
神田川の東、淀橋市場と中央線の土手との間の閑散とした北新宿４丁目が「不夜城」のロケ場所の一つ。健一（金城武）がショットガンを手に入れた場所です。
East of the Kanda River, Kita-Shinjyuku are film shoot places of “SLEEPLESS TOWN”. It is the place where Kenichi (Takeshi Kaneshiro) obtained a shotgun.
一連の写真の上が1998年の初上映から20年経過した現在。映画より殺伐としていますが、わかりますね。
The same place that passed for 20 years. The real place is fierce than a movie. Are you seen in the same place?
もう電話ボックスはありません。夏美（山本未来）が買い物をしたことになっていますが近くには商店はないのです。
There is already no telephone booth. Natsumi (Mirai Yamamoto) did shopping by the movie here, but there is no store near. 
めまぐるしく変わる新宿の中で、この辺りはあまり変わっていません。人通りも車通りも少ないので数台のタクシーが休憩しています。
In Shinjuku turning busy, this neighborhood is not so changed. Because there are few both pedestrian traffic and car streets, several taxis take a break.
中央線の土手沿いに東に行けば百人町、大久保駅、神田川は相変わらず桜が綺麗に咲いています。「不夜城」の中の新宿は私が居た頃の新宿。この映画はそういう意味で感慨深いのです。
If go to the east; Hyakunincho, Okubo Station. A cherry tree blooms in the Kanda River as ever. “SLEEPLESS TOWN” is Shinjuku that I know. Therefore this movie is deeply impressive.
