CMP競作！ -A supply truck is not enough!

CMP-Canadian Military Pattern。WW2当時にカナダのフォード、GM、シボレーで作られたトラックです。無骨な足回り丸出しのトラックは、私の好きなジャンルです。特にこの英国連邦で使用されたCMPは個性的です。英国連邦の車両は他国の車両と比べると不格好ですがどことなく愛嬌があります。Italeriの1/35 シボレー15CWT(Hundredweight) cab13がなかなか手に入らず、アイルランドのMirror Model製のフォード F15Aを入手しました。このメーカーのキットは複合素材を使用して、やや高価なのですが、入手時期を逃すとこれまた手に入りにくいメーカーなのです。たぶん市場供給量が絶対的に少ないのでしょう。ある日、秋葉原の有名な中古キット屋さんに寄った時、偶然Italeriの15CWTを見つけてしまいました。こういう発見って何年に一度あるんですが、本当に嬉しいものです。数千円の模型の箱を手にして感慨に耽っている中年男子の姿は、この世界を知らない方には滑稽な光景にしか見えないと思います。しかし、本人はなににも代え難い至福の時を感じているのです。やはり模型屋さんは夢を売る場所なのです。
CMP-Canadian Military Pattern. It is the truck which Canadian Ford, GM, Chevrolet made in WW2. I like powerful trucks very much. Particularly, I like CMP used in the Commonwealth of Nations. The vehicle of the Commonwealth of Nations is more unshapely than the vehicle of other countries, but is pretty. 1/35 Chevrolet 15CWT “Hundredweight” cab13 of ITALERI which I wanted is not available. I bought Ford F15A of MIRROR MODEL in Ireland unwillingly. Because the kit of MIRROR MODEL uses a various parts material, it is slightly expensive. But this kit is sold out when I miss time. Probably I think that there are few market supplies.
One day, in a recycling model shop of Akihabara, I found 15CWT of ITALERI accidentally. I experienced such an accidental discovery several times. This was very nice. The middle-aged man smiling with a cheap model is like the geek. But probably the middle-aged man is very happy. After all the model shop is the place that gives people a dream.
ということで盆と正月がいっぺんに来た感があり、掟破りの２キット同時製作を始めてしまいました。まだ作成途中ですが、90%くらいの完成度まで漕ぎ着けたと思います。Mirrorのキットは製造が中国ですがパーツが薄く細く整形されており、金属部品やエッチングは随所で使われているのでアクセントが効いています。ゴム製のタイヤも重量感があり、全体にシャープな感じです。一方Italeriのキットは、パーツが粗く、大丈夫か？と思えるのですが、組み上がるにつれていい風にできてきます。良く言われる、これがItaleriマジックなのでしょうか？元々金型はMAX模型のものですからそんなことないですよね。でも古いキットでここまで雰囲気出すのは見事です。
I have begun the parallel making of two kits recklessly. All two of them were completed now to approximately 90%. The kit of MIRROR is made in China, but the parts are thin and are precise. And it is sharp using a metal part and etching made. The rubber tire has a feeling of weight. On the other hand, the parts of the kit of ITALERI are thick and are sloppy. Is it all right? But this kit is cool when I assemble it. Is this famous ITALIRI MAGIC? Because the die of this kit is MAX model, it is wrong. But it is the kit which is splendid even if old.
どちらのキットも楽しく製作を進められました。やはり楽しくなければホビーとは言えませんね。古いキットも新しいキットも、企画や設計での創意や工夫が伝わってきます。Let’s enjoy a hobby!
