Trestle bridge
東急池上線の五反田駅。3両編成のターミナル。電車が着けば皆焦るでもなく降車、出口や乗り換え口へゆっくり向かう。
Gotanda Station on the Tokyu Ikegami Line. This is the terminal for trains with only three cars. When the train arrives, passengers disembark without rushing and slowly head to the exit or transfer gate.この齷齪しない雰囲気がとてもいい。一日の始まりはこうでなければ。毎朝ほぼ同時刻に到着、会社は目黒川沿いを大崎方面に歩いて15分ほど。
This relaxed atmosphere is wonderful. This is how a day should start. I arrive at the station at the same time every morning. My company is about a 15-minute walk along the Meguro River toward Osaki.駅ホームはトレッスル橋脚なる構造。先日行った餘部橋梁は日本を代表するトレッスル橋脚。
The station platform has a structure called a trestle pier. The Amarube Bridge, which I visited recently, is one of Japan’s most famous trestle piers.末広がりに組まれた橋脚垂直要素(縦材)を多数短スパンで使用して橋桁を支持する形式の橋梁、とのこと。
It is a type of bridge that supports the bridge girder using a large number of short-span vertical elements (vertical members) of the piers arranged in a flared shape.下町ロケットの池上線。“味がある”とはこういうことかな。
The Ikegami Line is the setting for Shitamachi Rocket. I wonder if this is what “Aji ga aru” means.
